LMU Catastrophic Emergency Relief Program

In response to the catastrophic wildfires in January 2025, Human Resources has implemented new initiative to respond to emergency events.

PAID ADMIN EMERGENCY TIME OFF

The university recognizes the challenges our faculty and staff face in response to the recent fires and understands that some may need time off instead of accrued sick or vacation days. The maximum is 10 days. If interested or for more details, please email emergencyfund@lmu.edu.

DONATE VACATION TIME – EMERGENCY

Staff can donate unused, accrued vacation time to help fund the emergency pool for LMU faculty and staff affected by the fires.  For instructions on how to donate time through Workday, please refer to the Request Vacation Donation – Emergency reference guide.

FACULTY AND STAFF EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND

The LMU Faculty and Staff Emergency Response Fund offers grants of up to $1000 to support those impacted by the Los Angeles Wildfires. For more information or to request a grant, please send an email to emergencyfund@lmu.edu; the form should also be returned to this email address.

As emergencies happen, we remain committed to supporting our community during challenging times.
