Policies

Registration 

  1. All LMU students, faculty, and staff must register their bicycle with the Cycling Lion at the beginning of the academic year.
  2. Registration can be done in person at the Cycling Lion during regular business hours or by submitting the following form

Parking 

  1. Campus residents have preferred resident bicycle parking around their housing complex. 
  2. Unregistered bicycles parked in resident bicycle parking will be tagged by the Cycling Lion. Owners of tagged bicycles will have 21 days to contact the Cycling Lion to complete registration. Owners can email the Cycling Lion at cyclinglion@lmu.edu or visit the shop during regular business hours.
  3. The bicycle cage located next to the Cycling Lion is preferred residential parking for residents living in Doheny, Palm North, and Palm South.
  4. The bike cage is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Abandoned Bicycles

  1. Bicycles that have been parked for prolonged periods on racks or in the cage and/or appear to be abandoned will be tagged by the Cycling Lion. Owners of tagged bicycles will have 21 days to contact the Cycling Lion before the bike is removed.
  2. If the abandoned bicycle is not claimed within 21 days of notice, the bicycle will be removed and placed in storage by the Cycling Lion.
  3. The Cycling Lion will not be responsible for reimbursing any bicycle owner for any lock and/or chains that need to be cut to remove the abandoned bicycle. 

Impound Process 

  1. Any bicycle considered abandoned, improperly parked, and/or stored is subject to impound.
  2. Bicycles that are unlocked are subject to immediate impound. 
  3. The Cycling Lion is not responsible for any incidental damages that may occur to bicycles and/or locks during the impoundment process. 
  4. To claim a bicycle that may have been impounded owners should visit the shop during regular business hours. Impounded bicycles will be verified by proof of registration.
