BetterHelp

BetterHelp offers four free tele-therapy sessions for all LMU/LLS faculty and staff for one month (one session per week). A credit card is required but will not be charged and three emails will be sent as reminders to cancel your access. Subsequent sessions for LMU/LLS faculty and staff are at a discounted rate. Note: This is only available for first-time users of BetterHelp.

MyHelp

MyHelp (supported by BetterHelp) offers five free tele-therapy for all LMU/LLS Faculty and Staff where one navigates through the Health Advocates employee portal to access MyHelp. If you already have a BetterHelp account, MyHelp will automatically sync them together upon registration. Upon ulitizing your five free sessions within the given year, subsequent sessions are at a discounted rate for LMU/LLS Faculty and Staff. Note: Once you utilize MyHelp, you cannot access the four free sessions directly with BetterHelp.

Once you are connected to a counselor, a session is defined as either a live session (chat, phone, video) or a week of back-and-forth messages (exceeding 500 words) exchanged with your therapist. Live sessions with your therapist will render between 30 and 60 minutes based on your individual needs. We encourage you to discuss your preferences with your therapist.
